Overview

The Grandeurs of Kashmir is a nine-day itinerary covering exclusive beauties in and around Kashmir. The tour starts in Delhi and covers numerous destinations on a guided tour.

Kashmir is the Switzerland of the country if you are visiting in May. For monsoon visitors, the land would resemble Southern France. Standing at hundreds of feet above mean sea level, Kashmir is a Narnia with lush climate, vegetation, and unique culture. The land is filled with romantic gardens, winding rivers, magical meadows, snow-clad mountain backdrop, and serene lakes.

Tour Itinerary

  • Day 1 :Reach Delhi

    Once you reach Delhi, you will be met by our tour representative. He will transfer you to a hotel. After checking in, you are left in your room to relax for the remainder of the day.

    Enjoy dinner and night stay in the hotel in Delhi.

  • Day 2 :Reach Srinagar

    After breakfast, you will be checked out of the hotel and driven to the airport to catch your flight to Srinagar. Once you reach Srinagar, a tour representative will greet you and drive you to the houseboat awaiting you. After checking in, you will be left to relax for a while. Later, you will be taken to Dal Lake for a Shikara Ride.

    Enjoy dinner and night stay in the houseboat in Srinagar.

  • Day 3 :Explore Srinagar

    Post breakfast, you will be driven around Srinagar to enjoy sightseeing. Perched at 5,200 feet above mean sea level, this paradise on earth is famous for numerous tourist attractions. The first attraction you will be covering is the Mughal Gardens. This is a combination of three gardens of the 17th century – Shalimar Bagh, NishantBagh, and Chashme-Shahi. The Shalimar Bagh is the most extensive garden built by Emperor Jehangir. The NishantBagh is the garden of pleasure. It is a terraced garden with a blissful background of mountains. Chashme –Shahi is a royal spring along the Dal Lake banks.

    Return to Srinagar Houseboat for dinner and overnight stay.

  • Day 4 :Visit Pahalgam

    Post breakfast, you will be checked out of the houseboat and driven to Pahalgam (2.5 hours – 92 km). Pahalgam is located 7,200 feet above the mean sea level. This region is called the valley of shepherds and is a famous hill station and a movie shooting site. Pahalgam is famous for trekking and is also famous among pilgrims as the base camp for AmarnathYatra.

    En route to Pahalgam, you will be visiting saffron fields, ruins of Awantipura of 19th century along with the 9th-century Hindu temples, and Martand Temple. Upon reaching Pahalgam, you will be checked into a hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

  • Day 5 : Explore Pahalgam

    Post breakfast, you will be exploring the natural sites of Pahalgam at your own pace. Later, you will be taken on a day trip to Chandanwari, which is 16 km away from Pahalgam and stands at 9,500 feet above mean sea level. This is the starting point for trekkers who take up the AmarnathYatra. You will be taken on a jeep ride to the Baisaran meadows, which are rightfully called Mini-Switzerland. You will also be exploring Betaab Valley and Aru Valley. You will be driven back to Pahalgam.

    Enjoy dinner and night stay in the hotel in Pahalgam.

  • Day 6 : Reach Gulmarg

    Post breakfast, you will be checked out of Pahalgam hotel and taken on a road trip to Gulmarg. Gulmarg is 8500 feet above mean sea level and is called the Meadow of Flowers. This region holds the highest golf course in the world, which is open only during summer. In winter, it becomes a premier ski destination. Once you reach Gulmarg, you will be checked into a hotel. After a brief rest in your room, you will be taken to ride the second-highest cable car ride in the world. The Gondola ride takes you as high as 13,780ft from the Mt. Apharwat’s base. You will be ferried from there to Phase I and from Phase I, you will be taking another lift to reach Phase II. The ride covers emerald pine forests, lush green mountain terrain, and a mesmerizing view of the mountain surroundings. Later, you will be taking a short hiking trip for 1.5 km to reach the Alpather Lake, which is located at the foothills of the twin peaks of Apharwat. This triangular lake is a beautiful sight to watch with the rugged mountains and meadows bordering it. If you cannot hike for 1.5 km, you can choose to ride on a pony.

    You will be driven back to your hotel for a warm dinner and a good night’s sleep.

  • Day 7 : Reach Sonamarg

    Post breakfast, you will be checked out of the hotel and driven to Sonamarg (125 km – 3.5 hours) via scenic routes. Once you reach Sonamarg, you will be checked into a hotel.

    Enjoy dinner and a good night’s sleep in the hotel in Sonamarg.

  • Day 8 : Explore Sonamarg

    Post breakfast in the hotel, you will be driven around Sonamarg to enjoy the natural beauties it holds. You can find flower-carpeted valleys with a backdrop of snow mountains. There are numerous trekking and hiking trails that would lead you to pristine, untouched Himalayan lakes and viewpoints. You can enjoy a nature walk through some of the amazing routes of this land to enjoy the fresh air of misty mornings. In the afternoon, you will be visiting natural sights found in this valley, at 9000 ft above mean sea level. You will be covering panoramic viewpoints, Sindh River, and much more. After lunch, you will be driven to Srinagar (80 km – 2.5 hours).

    Once you reach Srinagar, you will be checked into a hotel. Enjoy dinner and a good night’s sleep in the hotel in Srinagar.

  • Day 9 : Departure

    Post breakfast, you will be checked out of the hotel and taken to the airport, where you will be catching your Delhi flight. After reaching Delhi, move to the international terminal to catch your departure flight.
